I took Standard Premier seat on Eurostar from Amsterdam to Brussels. Was it worth it?

Have you ever used Eurostar?

If you are living in Europe, you probably have used Eurostar before.

This time, I used Eurostar with Standard Premier from Amsterdam to Brussels.
It was also the first time for me to use Eurostar in my life.

On the way back to Amsterdam, I took a Standard seat, so I will also share if the difference between them was big.

How was the experience? Was it worthy?
Here is the result.

Difference between Standard and Standard Premier

You must be wondering how different those 2 seats are.

  • Arrive at the station 45-60 minutes before departure.
  • Pick up snacks, drinks and meals on board from Café Métropole, our bar buffet.
  • Arrive at the station 45-60 minutes before departure.
  • Spacious coaches and comfortable seats for a relaxed and refreshing journey.
  • A light meal and drinks served at your seat.

Basically, the big differences are that you get free food, drink, and spacious seat.

What kind of light meal did I get?

Well, I did not really get “meal”, but I got a box snack.

Salty Nuts

Chilli $ Rosemary Green Olives
Milk Chocolate

I got a bottle of small wine too.
It was pretty nice. Having some wine and olives on the train.

How spacious is the seat?

One more big difference you will see is the size of a seat.

This is how the inside coach looks like below.

It obviously is different.
Standard Premier even has a seat for one person.
I was travelling alone to Brussels, so I really appreciated it.

It is really comfortable to have my own space and not care about other people.

As you can see, you will have a footrest as well.

How much did it cost to upgrade the seat?

Even if I get some light food and drinks, if it was expensive, I would not have upgraded it.

Actually, it’s cost me just €5 to upgrade.

Don’t you think it is quite cheap?
You pay just €5 and get a spacious seat, drink, and some snacks.

Please be aware that of course, it depends on where you are travelling from and where you are going to.

For example, If I look up how much it cost to go to London from Amsterdam, it would look like this.

Wow, this is crazy.
You have to pay almost €100 extra.

I won’t definitely do this one.

Was it worth it?

Yes, it really was.
I just paid €5 more and got a spacious seat and some free snacks and even wine.

This made my trip really comfortable and refreshing.
Sometimes, Travelling on a train isn’t comfortable and tiresome.

I will take Standard Premier again for sure if I will ever go to Brussels.
